Fabulously Finnish: 5 Festive mocktails from the top of the world

As Christmas will soon be here, we’ve drawn inspiration from Father Christmas’ native Finland to create five fantastically festive mocktails. Serve these to friends and family  and we guarantee any Christmas party will be full of festive cheers!

1. Drink in the joy of Lapland with a GinISH snow fizz

Bring a magical hint of snowy Lapland to your home with a refreshing yet warming and hearty GinISH snow fizz. The heavy cream topping resembles the fluffy snow of a fairytale-like white Christmas, while the traditional spirit-like heat of GinISH evokes memories of cosy Christmas gatherings. To complement the drink’s citrus flavour , add some Nordic Soda Water from Finnish Lapland, and enjoy a crisp, fresh hint of Nordic pine. You may not be able to travel to Lapland in 2020, but with this mocktail, you’ll feel like you’re already there.

How to make the perfect GinISH snow fizz

  1. Gather ingredients
    • 2 oz of GinISH
    • One egg white
    • 1 tbsp of lemon juice
    • 1 tbsp of lime juice
    • 1 tbsp of heavy cream
    • 1 tbsp of heavy cream
    • 3 drops of orange blossom water
    • 1 bottle of Nordic Soda Water
  2. Put GinISH, orange blossom water, egg white, lemon juice and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with some simple syrup.
  3. Shake for 25 seconds.
  4. Add some ice and shake for another 30 seconds.
  5. Strain the mixture into an 8-ounce glass and loosen the foam from the shaker with Nordic Soda Water.
  6. Slowly pour the water and foam mix into a glass and serve.

2. Be creative with Christmas cranberry punch

Since ancient times, Nordic people have eaten wild cranberries for their rich, slightly sour taste and nutritional value, while western countries have enjoyed them as part of their Christmas celebrations since the 19th century. It’s easy to see why these little berries have taken the world by storm. They’re great tasting,  packed with vitamin C and iron and also make a fantastic punch.

For an extra kick of fizz and refreshing citrus aromas, there’s Vinada Sparkling Gold, a low calorie sparkling wine from the Spanish region of La Mancha. It’s crafted with traditional methods to lock in its refreshing taste and hints of grape, which complement the natural botanicals in GinISH.

How to create the perfect Christmas punch in five minutes

  1. Gather ingredients
    • 2-3 cups of fresh or frozen cranberries, plus more for serving
    • Three clementines, thinly sliced

3. Get cosy with a RumISH & Nordic ginger Christmas mocktail

It’s good for you too, as the unique blend of vitamin-rich ginger oil and cloudberry found in Nordic Ginger Ale may even help keep those pesky winter colds at bay. What’s more, it mixes perfectly with Leitz Sparkling Riesling to create a bubbly and exciting party drink.

With a rich, sweet and spicy taste guaranteed to delight party guests, it’s little wonder the ancient drink has made a comeback in recent years. What’s more, it’s really fun to make and is filled with intoxicating flavours of fruit and spices.

Make 1.5 litres of mulled cider in seven simple steps.

    •  Four bottles of Galipette 0% Cidre

  7. Once boiled, turn off the heat and add a measure of RummISH to the saucepan.
  8. Pour the liquid and the orange into a large container and serve.

5. Feel festive with a lingonberry Mojito

The lingonberry Mojito mixes Nordic flavour and Cuban spice to stimulate the senses and warm the body. The sultry and spicy kick of this exotic tipple comes from the natural Madagascar vanilla and chilli found in RumISH. These fiery features complement the slightly sour taste of lingonberry and the piney aroma of Nordic Soda Water for the perfect Christmas drink. Sunny Cuba may be a far cry from frosty Finland, but the flavours of these two nations are a match made in heaven.
